A Sonogram Will Answer the Following Questions

Is the pregnancy viable? A non-viable pregnancy will end in natural miscarriage. Statistics show that up to 25% of pregnancies end in early miscarriage.

How far along are you? This determines the types of abortion procedures used at your stage of pregnancy.

Is the pregnancy in your uterus? Occasionally, the embryo implants somewhere else, usually in the fallopian tubes. This is known as an "ectopic pregnancy." An abortion won't resolve this obstetric complication. You will need a different type of surgical procedure to remove the embryo. This is a life threatening situation for you.
